Coaching Overview

NBVA recognizes the importance of quality coaching at every level of development, especially in young athletes. Coaches play an important role in establishing a strong foundation of fundamentals, as well as game concepts and strategies. Aquila is committed to a coaching staff that provides its' young athletes with this foundation.

 

For this purpose, NBVA is working with Josef Wolf, a highly recognized figure throughout Germany and beyond, to implement his coaching certification program. Josef brings extensive experience and expertise in the field of volleyball coaching.

The coaching certification program aims to provide comprehensive training and education for NBVA's coaching staff. It will cover various aspects of coaching, including but not limited to:

 

1. Fundamentals and Skills Development: The program will focus on teaching coaches how to effectively teach and develop fundamental volleyball skills such as serving, passing, setting, attacking, and blocking. Coaches will learn age-appropriate techniques and progressions to help young athletes master these skills.

 

2. Game Concepts and Strategies: Understanding game concepts and strategies is crucial for coaches to help their teams perform at a competitive level. The program will cover topics such as offensive and defensive systems, rotations, game analysis, and tactical decision-making. Coaches will learn how to develop game plans and make adjustments during matches.

 

3. Athlete Development and Psychology: Coaches will be trained in athlete development principles, including physical, mental, and emotional aspects. They will learn how to create a positive and supportive training environment, set appropriate goals for individual athletes, and motivate and communicate effectively with young players.

 

4. Safety and Injury Prevention: The program will emphasize the importance of safety in volleyball training and competition. Coaches will learn about injury prevention strategies, proper warm-up and cool-down techniques, and how to respond to and manage common volleyball-related injuries.

 

5. Ethics and Sportsmanship: NBVA places a strong emphasis on promoting positive values and sportsmanship among its athletes. The coaching certification program will cover ethical considerations in coaching, promoting fair play, and fostering a positive team culture.

 

The coaching certification program will consist of both theoretical and practical components. Coaches will attend virtual workshops, seminars, and training sessions conducted by Josef Wolf and other qualified instructors. They may also be required to complete assignments, assessments, and practical coaching evaluations to demonstrate their understanding and application of the knowledge gained.

 

By implementing this coaching certification program, NBVA aims to ensure that its coaching staff is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality coaching to young athletes at all levels of development. This will help create a strong foundation for the players and contribute to their overall growth and success in the sport of volleyball.
